Stimyoo is a hip hop and electronic music project hailing from Seattle Washington, that is in the process of promoting and building a following off its latest album “Lost In Form”. In the current project Stimyoo dives deep into the human experience by sharing his perspective of life and consciousness.

Bouncing between perspectives of the ego, those trapped in pain, and his own outlook on the world. By and large, Stimyoo, occupies the same structures raised by Trap hits and EDM anthems. The beats are pulsing, tight, and thoroughly melodic. The voice, a forceful honk, is so unique that I’m sure he’d pair well with vast, otherworldly productions from Travis Scott and the like.

stimyoo-350The songs have countless hooks and the glimpses he provides into his view on things. That said he is working his steadily working his way into rap’s immediate landscape. For better or worse, “Lost In Form” won’t be fading from your memory anytime soon; there’s a pretty good chance you’ll be singing along to a number of its songs sometime down the line.

Stimyoo’s rise in 2016, with the release of this album isn’t just heartening, it’s genuinely impressive. Clearly, he’s a born songwriter and he’ll get to new heights if he wants to; he has the resources and is finding his own lane. He is able to convey an experimentalism that remains endearing and engaging throughout the full run time of the album.

“Lost In Form” is an album only in the sense that it’s a collection of songs all in one place. There’s no particular logic to the album’s structure; these 12 songs, sharing experiences, thoughts and ideas, could all stand alone as one-off singles, and that’s fine, because that’s what Stimyoo does best.

The album feels like a checklist of everything Stimyoo can do. His heavy, thick-tongued cadence and his edgy vocoder effects are sprinkled across the album like familiar jingles. He can go hard and fast, one word tumbling into the next, then punctuated by a sigh.

Listening to songs like “Is It Really Worth It”, “Handcuffs”, “Empty” and “Live Forever”, you realize that Stimyoo is so far left field he’s come back around and created an album that has huge, universal appeal. A weird kid who feels things really deeply is suddenly on the verge of turning the hip-hop world upside down with hybrid raps and production sounds.

Yet at the same time he can drop straight bangers and anthems like “About Time”, “Deferred Life Plan” and “Saul Good”. This album is something different, every track has its own unique taste and feel to it, but yet it draws you in and sets you just right.  Stimyoo has created his own genre of music!
