Venus is a singer-songwriter, pianist and performer from London. She started playing the piano when she was 5 years old and soon progressed to trying out almost every instrument in the orchestra. Venus has studied classical singing, participating in various amateur opera performances and musicals.  She started writing her own songs at the age of 11, which she played with her first band, soon developing a passion for rock bands like Bon Jovi, Europe and Evanescence and pop artists like Britney Spears, Madonna and Shania Twain.

Venus-fire-profileVenus has traveled widely, learning to speak 5 languages fluently, and finally moving to Italy where she worked as a vocalist with various local bands, while perfecting her vocal technique and songwriting. In 2015 she met producer Lex Mars with whom she collaborated on her first single ‘’Fire’’, which was released at the beginning of 2016. She is currently working on completing her self-titled Debut Album.

Venus is no cookie cutter plastic pop star in the likes that mainstream is so used to seeing. Her image is edgy and her music is brilliant innovative electro-pop with smart lyrics and powerful messages. ‘’Fire’’ is a song about insecurities, and how the person you’re with can only deepen them and make you feel worse about yourself.

It’s also an anthem of empowerment because it talks about breaking free from those inhibitions and restraints. The words here will empower you to be more of an independent person and not to rely so much on the validation of others to realize your self-worth in any relationship.

The pounding mysterious 80’s-type synthesizers give the track an epic new wave and power pop, crossover feel that will have you hooked from the very beginning. The truth is Venus, together with producer Lex Mars, makes darn good electro-pop music and they is not ashamed of it. There’s no hiding behind the art or talk of being eclectic.

Venus-fire-cover‘’Fire’’ is not so much a breakthrough but a showcase of their talents for creating catchy songs. The track is a stomper, the sort that belongs to a fashion runway. The big chorus and somewhat soaring vocals is insidiously infectious – with enough hooks to catch a sea full of fish!

Venus is beautiful, creative, and talented, and she comes across as intelligent and gracious. When it comes to pop-dance female artists, so many have come and gone since the mid-eighties until now, but none have been able to match the ingenuity of Madonna, who brought pop-dance music to a whole new level. It wasn’t just the music–it was the whole experience.

Madonna’s artistic choices were fueled by sheer gall, but her powers seemed to fade after “Ray of Light”. Lady Gaga succeeded in bringing back that whole theatrical experience to pop-dance, with even more daring and genius. Venus seems to be poised at the beginning of a similar runway with ‘’Fire’’. To see just how far and high she is able to fly we need to await the release of her album!
