Elizabeth “Lizzy” Small is a triple threat – being a dancer, singer-songwriter and actress. As a performer, she started her professional career with a series regular role on HIP HOP HARRY for Discovery Kids/TLC and she has appeared in over 70 national commercials, music videos and several variety shows. Lizzy Small has also recently had a major supporting role in the Lionsgate film SPARE PARTS opposite George Lopez, Marisa Tomei and Jamie Lee Curtis. Other notable credits include a guest role on ABC’s THE MIDDLE and a supporting role as the Baker Elf in THE SANTA CLAUSE 3: THE ESCAPE CLAUSE opposite Tim Allen. Next, she will star as one of the eight space explorers in the science fiction film ADAM 8.
Lizzy is exploring her musical interests and has released 2 songs “Gravity” which is available on Soundcloud and Youtube, as well as “Always Be There”. This girl is beautiful and has an amazing voice which needs to let shine. Both these tracks, co-written with David Pramik, are well produced, and combine to make an excellent presentation of her musical talents.
There are some voices that just grab hold of you the moment you first hear them. Lizzy Small’s vocals float over the addictive melody on “Gravity” and the hook is really strong. She tosses off multi-octave leaps and flips from head to chest voice without breaking a sweat.
And if you think that is impressive, wait until you hear “Always Be There”. Her lush vocals elevate this mid-tempo pop confection, as the slick production lays her dazzling pipes over a sizzling rhythmic beat.
Lizzy has so much control, so much character, and so much tone to her voice and yet throughout each performance she never seems to lose her sense of pure enjoyment of the music – which is certainly a potent weapon in her artistic armor. Her vocal artistry makes her very easy to enjoy.
Of course the music industry has changed through the years, and the competition has grown immensely, ranging from full-on professionals to homegrown artists. Plus with the instant gratification on line, fans are not as patient or willing to wait for an artist to grow, mature and experiment. The key for an artist even as vocally talented as Lizzy Small, is to have a production team able to capture her talent in a container that resonates with her targeted public.
Judging by what can be heard on both “Gravity” and “Always Be There”, her writing partner, and production team, totally complement Lizzy’s singing, her style and her songs. I suppose there’s nothing else much left to do, but to promote…and promote!
