Sarantos has dropped his latest single and video release “A Child’s Mind”. It’s signature Sarantos, but sounds refreshed and vibrant. His voice has never sounded better. The production is excellent, with few more layers on top of the usually dominant guitar-piano mix. Sarantos might be the one of the nicest and down-to-earth persons in the music world. That’s not a reason to get his music, but it’s nice to know. There is a common decency to the man that shines through his music as he tackles subjects that are dear to human existence. This time he looks at life through the eyes of an innocent child.
“This music is a slow pop melody about how innocent and pure a child’s mind truly is,” says Sarantos. “He remembers being a child and misses feeling a bit wild…I think we’ve all at some point missed being a child to a certain degree. Only once upon a time were we truly young and free. However, I don’t personally believe children should ever be hungry or malnourished and it is such a shame that this still happens in our world today. With how far we have come as a species in such a short time, it’s just not right for a child to be hungry and not enjoy his childhood. It just breaks my heart!”
“A Child’s Mind” sounds like a Sarantos record, but it is not more of the same. It is a fresh approach with distinctive songwriting and contemplative lyrics. Anyone who has previously heard Sarantos can testify to the passion and seriousness he delivers in every performance as well as the familiarity with which he treats his fans. This again, comes through wonderfully in this recording. “A Child’s Mind”, to me, ranks up there with quality Sarantos content.
Sarantos is by far one of the best talents in indie pop music today. His work is consistent and he always delivers top notch melodies, lyrics and production. “A Child’s Mind” is an excellent effort, but I’m not surprised. As usual Sarantos has put his incredible talent for creating rich imagery both lyrically and sonically to good use on this album. 33% of any music-related sales profits from this song are going straight to Feed My Starving Children.
Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, and they ship these meals to nearly 70 countries around the world. Sarantos even participated in one of these packing sessions on a cold Chicago night recently!
For a few years now this man has been producing material that is nothing short of awesome. “A Child’s Mind” is certainly a creative peak for Sarantos , perhaps even one of his finest songs to date. To describe this track as beautiful is to not give it credit for the depth and soul that you can feel in it.
