Acclaimed Guitarist Brent Barker’s Debut EP, Featuring Drummer Chris Frazier (Steve Vai) And Bassist (Formerly Of Y&T), Is A Success At Radio

After years lending his talents to others projects, guitar virtuoso Brent Barker has found success with his self-titled debut EP. The instrumental album, which was released last month, is currently the #4 Most Added At NACC Loud Rock Radio & #5 Most Added At Metal Contraband.

Enlisting renowned musicians Chris Frazier (legendary drummer for Steve Vai) and Brad Lang (former bassist for Y&T) to provide the backbeat to his signature guitar style, Barker described his first effort as a musical journey with no language barriers. The EP was recorded at the iconic Blackbird Studio in Nashville, TN and produced and engineered by Grammy Award Winner David Thoener (ACDC, Aerosmith, Santana).

The Brent Barker album is the 5th most added album to rock and metal radio this week according to Metal Contraband, the 4th most added according to NACC Loud Rock and the ONLY independent release on the Top Ten most added, said Barker. This would not be possible without the great talents on the record including David Thoener, Brad Lang, Chris Frazier, Lowell Reynolds, Ben Becker.

The album is also resonating with industry professionals and critics. In fact, Anthony Scaltz from Fret Buzz says, Brent’s approach to the rock instrumental idiom is both fresh and in honor of the giants of the past. His phrasing is smooth with hints of blazing technicality, two ingredients guaranteed to cement Brent Barker as one of the new trailblazers of the electric guitar.
