The Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule project has its roots in 2021; a talented guitarist and drummer who were seeking for other musicians committed to play a technical progressive metal with a modern sound. The duo approach, hence the project, took off in March 2022 after they realized they had the same goal in mind with a similar taste for esthetic and sound. In just a couple of weeks they were able to pull off their first track “Light of Transparency” which can be considered as a manifesto to their musical approach and during the same time frame they also realized and produced the related official video for the song. They both believe that every song can be considered a world of its own, as they don’t want their music to be confined by any boundaries. Marko and Fabio are both experienced musicians who have had their hands in many bands and projects during the last twenty years but they get into every new song with an ever-growing enthusiasm and with a sincere passionate love for their instruments.

  1. How long have you been performing and recording as Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule, and why did you choose to be a duo and not a full band?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule: Fabio – Frankly, it’s not that much. We started the project effectively a couple of months ago. We found ourselves to be easily compatible and we think and act with a similar fast pace…so it was evident to us both that we star right away, even without seeking other members to join the project.

  1. Who have been your major influences in your writing and playing style when you started out?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule: Marko – Inspiration mostly comes from classical music but if we talk about guitar then Jason Becker has big influence on my playing Fabio – When I started playing drums, Dream Theater and Pantera were my main inspiration.

  1. If I was to turn on your media player right now, which artists/songs would I be most likely to hear on your recently played list?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule: Marko – Right Now Dimash Kudaibergen 🙂 Fabio – WhiteChapel; Igorrr

  1. What do you feel are the key elements in your music that should resonate with listeners?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule: Fabio – The focus we put in composing new songs and the attention to details that for is so important for us; especially being an instrumental project

  1. With the music industry always changing and evolving, what are the things you like and do not like about it currently? And if you could change anything about it, what would it be?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule:  Marko- I would not change anything because simple I can’t 😊 But I’m able to adapt very quickly to any new changes. So that would also be my advice to others musicians Fabio  – I’d like to see more interests towards good music regardless of the ever changing trending

  1. What’s your view on the current state of rock and metal music general?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule: Fabio – It seems, in particular for metal, that it will never be able to get rid of the outsider position it had to deal with since its beginnings. I mean that, actually, is much more difficult for a metal band (not to mention extreme metal band) to grab the attention of the mainstream. The silver linings of this situation is that usually audiences that are into metal are a lot more loyal. Obviously that is just my opinion.

  1. Do you write songs with current musical trends, formulas or listener satisfaction in mind, or do stay focused on your own musical vision, and trust that your audience will follow?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule: Fabio – It’s more the second one you said. In my opinion when you try to replicate formulas or trends you just end up with a sterile homework done, at best! A song that really touches you is the one that delivers a real urgency feeling of communicate something. That’s not easy by any means, and it’s not easy trying not be influenced; but I think this can still be a positive thing if it helps create your very own style and creative sound.

  1. For most artists, originality is first preceded by a phase of learning and, often, emulating others. What was this like for you? How would you describe your own development as an artist and music maker, and the transition towards your own style?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule: The problem of being original and with new ideas is that there is no recipe .You can’t learn originality sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn’t. My main goal is to be able to play every new idea that comes to my mind. Fabio – It’s true indeed, I tried myself to master some style of drumming before starting to develop my own creativity on the kit.

  1. Could you describe your creative processes? How do usually start, and go about shaping ideas into a completed song?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule:  Fabio – Marko is in charge of the composition; for the drums parts I usually listen to his ideas and melodies and, at a certain point, I start to play along e grooves start to come out by themselves

  1. Where did you do most of your recording and production work, and do you outsource any of these processes?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule: Marko- All the recordings and production were performed at our homes. We outsourced mixing and mastering, which have been made at Tidal Studio in London, and we had the privilege of having Mike Lepond from Sympghony X at the bass in “Light of Transparency”.

  1. If someone has never heard your music, which 5 keywords would you personally use to describe what you and your music is all about?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule: Marko – Emotive, Fast, Difficult, Cinematic, Trailer

  1. With social media having a heavy impact on our lives and the music business in general, how do you handle criticism, haters and/or naysayers in general? Is it something you pay attention to, or simply ignore?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule: Marko – The project is so new that we’ve had no critics yet. But some criticism can be good if it helps you improve; it also means people want to spend words on you…

  1. Could you tell us something about your single “Light of Transparency” and how you got to collaborate with Mike LePond?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule:  Marko – At first I must say Mike is a great person and his playing skills are amazing. Actually, we made it really fast, we gave open hands to Mike to write bass line and he did great.

  1. Can you tell fans about your upcoming second single, and what the highlights are to watch out for?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule:  Marko – Second single Tilted Gravity will have some big mood changes. As I said before from fast metal riffs to some nice melodic jazz themes and bridges. We’re really close to have it out!

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule: Fabio – Maybe the genuine love we have for our instruments and the commitment we punt in producing fine music

  1. Creative work in studio environment, or interaction with a live audience? Which of these two do you ultimately prefer and why?

Marko Celesty & Fabio Bule: Fabio – I love studio/home working; I really feel free in that environment. Usually in the crowd I don’t feel at ease, that’s a fact, but still I feel such a positive gain once I start play in front of the people.

  1. What is the best piece of advice regarding the music business that you actually followed so far, and what is the piece of advice you did not follow, but now know for sure that you should have?
